The WVU Tech Golden Bear Volleyball program had two Student-Athletes recognized by the Mid-South Conference at the end of the year banquet.

Mid-South Conference Releases Women’s Soccer Honors

Montgomery, WV—
Seven WVU Tech Women’s Soccer players receive Mid-South Conference recognition in this year’s 2009 season. Coach Florin Marton’s Golden Bears ended the season with an overall record of 9-6-3 including a 4-2-1 mark in the MSC.

Davis & Elkins Dominate Glass, Deal Golden Bears First Loss

Montgomery, WV—
The WVU Tech women’s basketball played host to a hard nosed Davis and Elkins squad Monday evening at the Baisi Center in a match up that was two years in the making. The Golden Bears got into foul trouble early in the game but thanks to a few surprise performances, Tech was able to keep the game close in the first half.

Golden Bear Women Dominate Cobras

Montgomery, WV—
The WVU Tech women hit the road this Saturday for their first away game of the 2009-10 season fresh off of an emotional victory in their season opener against Bluefield State College. Georgetown Outlasts WVU Tech in Season Finale

Montgomery, WV –
In what has traditionally been a difficult match up for the Golden Bears, a banged up Tech squad took to Martin Field with a few tricks up their sleeve. The Golden Bears came out in the first half in at least 3 completely different offensive personnel sets and played Georgetown College (7-4, 4-2) nearly even for the first half of play.
The Tech defense came out on fire to begin the game, forcing Georgetown to punt on their first two possessions before Jordan Kramer found daylight on a pitch and scampered 16 yards for the games first score. MORE >>>
Golden Bear Football Looks for Strong Showing in Season Finale

Montgomery, WV –
In what has traditionally been a difficult match up for the Golden Bears, a banged up Tech squad welcomes Georgetown College (6-4, 3-2) to Martin Field for their final game of the season. The last time these two teams met didn’t bode well for the Golden Bears who suffered a 48-0 loss to the Tigers that left a bad taste in Tech’s mouth all summer. MORE>>>
WVU Tech Handles Bluefield State for Third Straight

Montgomery, WV—
The WVU Tech Men’s Basketball team took on their final WVIAC opponent in the Baisi Center Thursday evening. Tech came into tonight’s match up with a 3-1 overall record and a 2-1 record against West Virginia Conference teams this season with their only loss coming at the hands of a talented Davis and Elkins squad. Since that loss, Tech has rattled off three straight victories by an average of 30 points.
The last time these two teams faced off on the same court was back in 2006 when both teams were competing in the WVIAC. That season, the Golden Bears handed the Blues two losses, reaching the century mark both times, 100-84 and 100-81. MORE >>>
Golden Bear Women Open Season with Win

Montgomery, WV—
The WVU Tech women’s basketball team opened up their 2009 season with a 67-54 victory over a Bluefield State College team that defeated the Golden Bears by 10 points last season in the Baisi Center.
The Lady Blues entered into tonight’s game looking to improve on their 4-23 mark from the 2008 season. The Golden Bears split the two game series with Bluefield, winning the first game at Bluefield by a 17 point margin before dropping a 42-32 decision at Tech later in the season.

Women’s Soccer falls to #1 Lindsey Wilson

Montgomery, WV –
For the first time in West Virginia Tech Women’s Soccer history, the WVU Tech reached the Mid-South Conference semi-finals, a commendable achievement. Tech was rewarded by having to play the top ranked team in the country, Lindsey Wilson, a program that produced six All-Americans last season. The upstart Golden Bears took the opportunity to send a message that they weren’t just happy to be there. MORE>>>
LWC Ends Men’s Soccer Season in Conference Semi’s

Montgomery, WV –
The West Virginia Tech Men’s Soccer Team ended its season on Thursday with a 2-0 loss to #2 Lindsey Wilson. The Golden Bears, who dominated Georgetown College in the quarter finals, put forth a gutsy performance, but couldn’t pull off the upset to advance to the finals.
