Montgomery, WV – West Virginia University Tech’s Andrea Arias and Pikeville College’s Kara Henning were named as the Mid-South Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week.

The pair earns the first weekly women’s soccer honors of the season.

Arias, a junior goalkeeper from Chia, DC, recorded 16 saves in a double-overtime tie to earn MSC Defensive Player of the Week. Arias did not allow a goal to Milligan College in a 0-0 tie as she stymied the well organized offensive attack of the Buffaloes.

Henning, a freshman from Amelia, Ohio, scored four goals in her first collegiate game to earn MSC Offensive Player of the Week. Henning’s goals helped the Bears to an 18-0 win over visiting Tennessee Temple University.

The Women’s Soccer team will be back in action on September 2nd when they take on Shawnee State at Cookskin Park in Charleston. Kick off is set for 7:00pm.
