The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the NABC Honors Court. The Honors Court recognizes those collegiate basketball student athletes who excel in academics as well as the talents and gifts they possess off court. For the second season, Tech’s Thomsen was 1 of 75 student athletes selected nation wide.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, student athletes must be a junior or senior academically, a varsity student athlete, possess a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2009/10 academic year, must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution and must be a member of an NCAA DI, DII, DII or and NAIA institution.

WVU Tech’s Zach Thomsen was the Golden Bear’s senior point guard on the men’s basketball squad. The S. New Berlin, NY native finished the 2009/10 season ranked 4th in the nation with a 2.57 assist to turnover ratio, 50th in the nation in total assists (116) and 42nd in the nation in assists per game (3.8).
