Golden Bear Baseball Suffers Set Back against Bluefield College

East Bank, WV
The Golden Bear baseball team dropped both games of a mid-week double header on Tuesday to Bluefield College. Tech was riding a three game win streak after sweeping Cincinnati Clermont last weekend, but that weekend was quickly forgotten after Bluefield jumped on the Bears by the scores of 12-2 and 13-6.

WVU Tech Wrestler Ben Wood Represents Golden Bears at the NAIA National Tournament

Senior Wrestler, Ben Wood (Charleston, WV) again represented the upstart Tech wrestling program at the NAIA national tournament this season. Golden Bear Baseball Sweep Three on the Weekend

East Bank, WV –
The WVU Tech Golden Bears swept the visiting Cincinnati Clermont Cougars in a three game series this weekend at Douglas Epling Stadium in Eastbank, WV. Tech was eager to get back on the diamond after dropping their first three games on the road and having their last six scheduled games postponed due to weather. The young Golden Bears showed great maturity last weekend winning 6-2 in the first contest and then pulling out two one-run victories in the double header on Sunday. MORE >>>
Mid-South Names Men’s Basketball All-Conference Teams; WVU Tech Has Two Named to Honorable Mention Squad
FRANKFORT, Ky. —The Mid-South Conference announced its men’s basketball all-conference team on Thursday night at the conference’s annual banquet. Members of the Mid-South All Conference teams were selected and voted on by conference coaches.

Golden Bears Struggle to Find Answer for Tigers Perimeter Attack, Fall to Georgetown
FRANKFORT, KY—Georgetown College’s Eddie Gray scored a team-high 23 points as the Tigers ended
WVU Tech’s Mid-South Conference Tournament with an 86-62 victory over the Golden Bears Friday night at the Frankfort Convention Center.
Gray was a thorn in Tech’s side the entire game, connecting on 7 of his 11 three point attempts to help the Tigers create and extend their lead to advance to Saturday’s semifinal game against University of the Cumberlands. MORE >>>
WVIAC, Charleston Lions Club Announce Plans To Celebrate 50 Years Of WVIAC Championship Basketball In The Capital City

Golden Bears Give #7 Campbellsville all they can Handle

Montgomery, WV—
It was senior night in the Baisi Athletic Center and the Golden Bears were doing their best to close out the 2010 regular season with a victory. Seniors Robby Marshall (Syracuse, NY), Zach Thomsen (S. New Berlin, NY) and Darryl Slack (Atlanta, GA) each did their part early to keep the visiting Mid-South Conference regular season champion Tigers on their heels in the first half, as did their supporting cast.
But despite Tech’s efforts, #7 Campbellsville eventually pulled away in the second half, downing the Golden Bears 77-56. MORE >>>
