Jake Head Shot Head Coach: Jake Brumbelow

Jake Brumbelow is entering into his first season as the head coach of the Golden Bears. Brumbelow comes to Tech from the NCAA Division II Carson Newman Eagles located in Jefferson City, TN where he served as an assistant wrestling coach for the past two seasons under Hall of Fame coach Don Elia. While on the Eagle staff, Brumbelow was responsible for recruiting several Senior National All-Americans, and contributing to the Eagles to two winning seasons.

Coach Brumbelow has also served as the head coach of the Wolfpack wrestling club in Knoxville, TN. While under Brumbelow’s supervision,the Pack was able to produce several Southeastern Freestyle/Greco place winners and one Champion. The Wolfpack also produced many state place winners and one TSSAA State Champion.

Coach Brumbelow originally hails from Cartersville, GA where he attended Woodland High school, graduating in 2002. While there he set many school and state records for the Wildcats’ wrestling team and holds the Georgia state record for the best single season record, recording 68 wins and 0 loses. The Cartersville native also won state titles in 2001 at 112lbs and 2002 at 119lbs, while finishing runner up in 2000 at 103lbs compiling an impressive high school career record of 169-4.

After his successful high school career, Jake became a four year starter at Carson Newman. Brumbelow was a team captain for two of his four seasons with the Eagles and earned national rankings at the DII level several seasons while competing at 133lbs compiling a career college record of 148-44.

Coach Brumbelow currently resides in Montgomery, WV.
